Considering plastic surgery at The Medical Group of Costa Rica? Read this first.

I had my rhinoplasty there on March 5, 2026, by Dr. José Cohen and Dr. Rashi Rosenstock. I went to make my nose symmetrical. Now my left nostril is collapsed and the whole nose is crooked.

I wrote to Dr. Cohen that the incision did not look good. He replied within minutes: apply Aquaphor twice a day, and it will close by secondary intention.

What I see in my nose now

My left nostril is collapsed.
There is a bump on the right side.
My nose is asymmetric, which is what I went in to fix.

A U.S. surgeon examined my nose, quoted $25,000 and blamed the Costa Rica surgery. (Verbal.)

What happened

Jan 21I asked the clinic about a rhinoplasty.
FebruaryI prepaid the surgery by wire, as the clinic encouraged.
Mar 5Surgery.
Mar 14I told Dr. Cohen on WhatsApp that the left incision did not look good. He replied within minutes.
Mar 26I sent more photos. Dr. Cohen replied by voice message that the incision had closed with "a little depression," and to send photos as needed or at six months.
May 14I wrote that my left nostril was collapsed and asked to schedule a revision. I also wrote: "I came to you to make my nose symmetrical. Now it's worse."
May 21After telling me six months, the clinic changed the timeline. Dr. Cohen replied through Evelyn: send photos every two months and wait a full year from surgery before deciding on next steps.
Aug 12I sent Dr. Cohen five photos: "This is very bad. It's not going to get better over the next 3 weeks. What are my next steps?" No reply.
Oct 7I wrote to him again: "This is not a satisfactory result. Do you stand by your work?" Still no reply.
